Business English Course

Sharpen your business English skills

Everything you say and do sends a message. That applies on a personal level, but even more so for organisations.

Every customer, partner, supplier and other business relation will, to some extent, judge your organisation based on the business communication skills of your staff.

Our business English course helps build the english skills your specific staff member needs, whether it’s speaking skills, written communication or presentation skills.

Our goal is to help your staff to speak English with confidence and contribute to their personal development, so that in everything they do, they can contribute just that little bit extra to your organisation.

Case study 1: A major utility company in Singapore

The challenge:

The staff member had fundamental grammar issues, such as tenses and concord. Management wanted him to get these right and learn to draft simple business correspondence in grammatically correct English.

What we did:

We started him on a grammar course. For the first 20 hours, we introduced the following to him:

  1. Be and Have;
  2. Present tenses (present simple, present continuous, state verbs);
  3. Future tenses (going to, will, present continuous for the future, present simple for the future);
  4. Past tenses (past simple, past continuous);
  5. Perfect tenses (present perfect simple, present perfect continuous, past perfect).

The result

He scored 92% on his very first assessment! He is now in his 2nd term.

He is now more confident with his writing. He can draft out reports and emails faster with good grammar and sentence structures

Case study 2: Conversant Solutions Pte Ltd

The challenge:

Student already had a highly-functional level of English. Her main goal was to improve her speaking and writing skills.

What we did:

We started her on a well structured English grammar course which covered a mix of writing skills and speaking skills.

The lessons were very fluid and often consisted largely of answering her questions. Which is exactly what we wanted to do.

The back and forth conversations helped her build her business conversation skills, use correct English grammar and improve her pronunciation.
