But don’t take it from us – hear from our students below!
Proudly supporting their training courses since 2012
At English Express and other Crystal Learning language schools, we see language, first of all, as a tool.
Every small improvement makes a difference immediately. You may never be perfect, and that’s ok. Even native speakers make mistakes. But as you become more confident in your ability to communicate in English, you’ll see the benefits.
We strongly believe that confidence is built through doing. That’s why our teachers will always encourage you to take the next step. Speak out, and try to speak out faster.
Practice and application are more important. To improve your conversational skills in English, you need to “do more” and “understand less”. That’s why we focus on practical topics that you can apply at the office the next day.

You may be a busy professional or a hard-working student. This means you need to focus on what’s relevant for you.
There is no time to waste on language that you cannot use immediately.
This is true if your English is great. It’s also true if you feel you still have a lot to learn.
Either way, our teachers will help you to make your English exactly how you want it to be.

With over 13 years of experience, our teachers are passionate, and our trainers are native speakers of the languages they teach. We pride ourselves on our strong reputation and commitment to excellence. Our testimonials reflect the quality of our programs.
What do the different levels mean?
In language proficiency, A1, B1, and C1 are levels within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). A1 represents a beginner level, B1 signifies an intermediate level, and C1 denotes an advanced level.
How do I find out my level?
You can take a free English placement test available on our website; click here to access the test. If the learner has difficulty reading and writing, we will recommend an oral test instead. Please let us know their preferred day and time for the test.
Can I get a refund if the class doesn’t start?
In very rare instances, we may find ourselves in a situation where there aren’t enough students enrolled in the class you signed up for. If this occurs, we will contact you to see if you would like to join a different class with an alternative schedule. If you choose not to proceed, we will issue a full refund of the amount you paid. Please note that refunds can only be processed using the same payment method you originally used, and they will be issued early in the following month. However, once the class has started, a refund will no longer be possible.
Can I get a refund if I do not like the class?
Once the class has started, no refunds will be allowed for whatever reason at all.
Can I change trainer or class if my schedule does not allow me to attend anymore or I do not like the trainer?

Can I use a CEFR certificate to apply for a certain job?
CEFR is NOT an academic certificate. It is to benchmark your proficiency in English language. It definitely helps you to prove that you have a certain degree of proficiency and might or might not help you in your job application, depending on the company’s requirements.
Are there any exams?
Examinations are not mandatory and are conducted after a term. Should you require an examination or test, please get in touch with us to arrange a suitable date and time. A fee of SGD150 plus GST applies for each 2-hour examination session.
What is a CEFR examination?
CEFR is NOT an official examination. It is to benchmark your proficiency based on the European Language Framework. This exam can be done in our centre. Please take note that different centres have different methods of assessing your proficiency, as there is no specific guideline on how to conduct such examinations. The CEFR is used in English Express to gauge or benchmark proficiency. Still, it is not an official examination recognised by the Ministry of Education (MOE) or other authorities.
Can I join a different class if I missed a lesson?
Yes, you can attend another class as long as it is at the same level as your current class. Please note that there is a three-month expiration date for any term you sign up for.
